Microsoft announces Vista APIs for Security Firms.

Microsoft has lost one battle in Europe.

Facing pressure from security companies led by Symantec, McAfee and others (including EU Commission), Microsoft has announced it will provide Application Progamming Interfaces ( APIs) in Windows Vista.

One such API will allow the security companies to monitor the state of the kernel and have a secure access to it.

The Security Center in Windows Vista will also not issue any warnings against any third-party security products anymore
