Megaupload / Rapidshare tricks to download files.
These Megaupload tricks are particularly useful for those who receive the message "All slots assigned to your country are in use", when you try to download a file.
I'm still not completely sure if this will work all the time, but its worth a try even if it works 60% of the time. Below are four different methods you can try.
If you would like to make any other suggestions, feel free to leave a comment..
For RapidShare:
If you have a ADSL connection with dynamic IP address, just restart you ADSL router/modem and clean your browser cache, especially cookies. This should be enough.
Method 4 listed below may also work for Rapidshare.
Method 1:
Go to http://upandup.freehostia.com/accelerator.html to easily bypass Megaupload download slots. Just as a precaution, clean your browser cache before each attempt, even though I don't think this is necessary.
Method 2:
If you can't get those country slots, you can read the post about a new version of a Firefox extension called Megaupload S.X3.2 for megaupload.
Method 3:
1. Go to the Google Translate tool. Here you'll find two sections : Translate Text and Translate a Web Page.
2. In the Translate a Web Page text box, paste your megaupload download link. Select the translation of your choice and hit the Translate button to load the megaupload file download page.
If you have anything to say about this method or you have some other trick, please let me know.
Method 4:
This method involves browsers that use the anonymous TOR network. XeroBank (formerly know as Torpark) is one if the browsers and OperaTor (check the post on OperaTor) is the other. XeroBank is a modified version of Firefox with TOR and OperaTor is a combination of the Opera browser, TOR and Privoxy.
Setting these browsers can be quite a headache. So be prepared to do some extra reading to get them started. Also, my guess is since these browsers use the TOR network, breaking limits may be possible in almost any services like Megaupload, Rapidshare..etc

For Firefox users:
1. Install the Firefox addon named User Agent Switcher.
2. Once installed, go to Tools >> User Agent Switcher >> Options >> Options.
The User Agents Switcher Options window is displayed.
3. Select User Agents from the list in the leftmost part of your screen.
4. Click Add to add a new user agent and type these details in the resulting window:
a. In the Description box type : MEGAUPLOAD
b. In the User Agent box type : Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; Alexa Toolbar)
5. Click OK twice to close the two windows and finish adding the new user agent.
So how do you use it from here? Just before you download a file from Megaupload, go to
Tools >> User Agent Switcher >> MEGAUPLOAD.
You can always set the user agent back to default after your download is complete.

Someone has commented the same thing can be done without using the Firefox User Agent add-on :
Type in the address bar this: about:config
Then search for this key: general.useragent.extra.firefox
Double click on it and add this: MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
So at the end it will look like this: Firefox/2.0 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
Restart Firefox and now you have infinite slots.

For Internet Explorer users:
IE users will have to edit settings in the Windows Registry.
(Caution: Please ensure you backup your registry before proceeding. Read this post if you don't know how to backup the registry.)
1. Go to Start >> Run.
Type regedit and press Enter. This will open the Registry editor.
2. IE 7 (IE 6 users can also try this ) users must navigate to the following :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform.
3. Other IE users must go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\5.0\User Agent\Post Platform.
4. Now right-click the Post Platform folder and go to New >> String Value.
Type Alexa Toolbar as the name and click Ok.
Enjoy downloading...
If any of the above tricks aren't working, there is one more way. I couldn't classify it as a method for downloading from megaupload. In fact, megaupload is not even in the picture in this case. Well, it is a site named DivShare. For those who aren't aware, it is much BETTER THAN Megaupload. Unlimited downloads, unlimited uploads, files stay on DivShare forever..

none of this is working for me. i downloaded firefox and the add on for it, didn't work. tried editing the registry settings on IE, didn't work. Tried the method of about:config for firefox, didn't work. It keeps saying download limit exceeded and it keeps giving me my ip address and telling me to try again in 353 minutes. any suggestions? I'm using the newest versions of everything. even tried a program called hide IP and it keeps giving me IPs in countries that block megaupload.com any suggestions?

I have found that if you use 'WGET' (a GNU CLI-based downloader) to download from megaupload, then it doesn't notice that you are even downloading anything.
this means you can download many files at the same time and you are not subject to download limits by megaupload.

if you dont want to wait 45 secs for the free link to appear, just type javascript:countdown() in to the address bar and press enter a few times. it will count-down quicker.

OMG, after sitting here for an hour trying every post theres was on this topic (via google), I came across this site and tried the IE fix once I read a comment about it working. When I followed these directions, I saw that they were for a different place in the registry and it works great! Thanks so much...now there's less frustration for me! WHEEEEE!

Try ineedfile.com to look for rapidshare files. I using it regularly and allways satisfied with the results

step1) Load your megaupload page and input keycode but dont download
step2) open as many of the above as you want/as possible in tabs or other pages
step3) place your cursor over the downlaod button and notice the www(3 numbers here).megaupload/com/blahblahblah
in front of the link for your download. make sure each one is different, and you can get all of them.
Personally what I do is click the link button ( different servers of course), then make em all pop up then click save on all of em.

There's a much simpler way actually o.o, discovered it by accident.
1. Go to the link where the file is.
2. Click Regular Download
3. When it displays a Blank page with "Download Limit Exceeded", simply hold Control and press F5.
After step 3, my download manager began to download the file. If it doesn't work, it means you'll need a help of a download manager.

"megaupload is temporarily unavailable in your service area" alwys appear whenever i try clicking on the link. i dont know why.
You can try these tricks. Some work great, others are outdated i guess. But totally worth it. Some have tricks for RS and other hosts also.

Hi I got a problem when downloading file from hotfile.com. After choosing regular download, I was brought to the page to download the file after 30 seconds. But whenever I click on download the file, I would be brought back to the initial page to choose premium or regular download. Can help?
