Remove the Yahoo! Messenger Insider Popup Window
Those of you who use Yahoo Messenger must have come across the Yahoo! Messenger Insider popup (image below) when you login.
Some may find it annoying (I find it very annoying), while some of you may find it useful.
Dear Readers, Yahoo Messenger Insider can be disabled in a few easy steps.

To get rid of this popup screen:
1. Login using the Yahoo messenger.
2. Go to Messenger >> Preferences.
3. The Yahoo messenger preferences window appears (image below).
Now, select the General category and uncheck Show Yahoo! Messenger Insider in the When I sign in to Yahoo! Messenger section.

The popup won't appear the next time you sign in to Yahoo messenger.

Thank you SO much. You have saved me countless hours of annoyance. Bless you.
Major Ditto's -- I hate it when an upgrade gives you this type of grief

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The Message Insider pop-up window is one of those annoying intrusions that we can do without. I find Yahoo is particularly sneaky in loading itself into places in my computer where it is not welcome.
(If it wasn't for the fact that YM is the best way for me to communicate with my son in Iraq I would have nothing to do with Yahoo because of these practices.)

Companies like Yahoo cheapen themselves by using these kinds of tactics. Adobe has gone this cheap route too by now trying to bundle McCrappy AV trialware with downloads of Adobe Reader & Adobe Flash player. And the Shockwave player install tries to install trialware of Symantec AV.

Thank you!...I hate all the CRAP that Yahoo is constantly coming up with to "make things better"....why don't they have you select the crap IF you want it instead of having to constantly find ways to get RID of their annoying junk?
Thanks Dude so helpful quick & painless!

Even though you uncheck show yahoo insider it still LOADS! With a slow 128 bps connection it is just one more reason to not use Yahoo messenger.

I was looking for a way to remove or move Yahoo's purple pop-up rectangle that appears over my sign-in button ... maybe Yahoo should do it ... and for everyone.

While at it maybe a non-blurry curved robot test and more clear vocal recitation would help fossils like me.

I closed my Yahoo account due to being hacked twice. I still keep getting an annoying pop-up from Yahoo asking for my password and don;t know how to get rid of it. I have Macbook Pro. Thanks for any help.

Thank you! The "insider" is particularly annoying and stupid since - hello? - showing a news story from October is just a wee bit irrelevant by February.
