FrostWire - A Free LimeWire PRO Alternative
LimeWire, one of the best peer-to-peer and BitTorrent programs around has got a clone, and an open source one at that. It's called FrostWire which is Free and as I mentioned, open source.
While LimeWire comes in two editions, a Free one and a Pro edition which requires you to pay, FrostWire has only got a free edition which, apart from all the functionalities of LimeWire Free, has also got some features of LimeWire Pro.
The most easily recognizable feature, turbo charged connections, is available in FrostWire.
(More Notes: Check out my post on using Google to get LimeWire Pro)
FrostWire looks exactly like LimeWire and also takes care of the small screen which appears for LimeWire Free users prompting them to upgrade to LimeWire Pro. FrostWire also includes the Ask Toolbar which the user can choose to install of uninstall.
As with LimeWire, FrostWire allows anyone to easily share and download files from the Gnutella and BitTorrent networks.
