Backup all Firefox Addons to Single Installable File

Here's a nice way to move your Firefox addons to a new machine. Pack all of them into a single file and install it to your new Firefox profile in just one step. Kind of a all-in-one Firefox addon installer.

Basically, an addon is just a file with a .xpi extension. You can open and see the contents of a .xpi file in Winzip or other archiving software. When Firefox encounters such a file, it tries to install whatever is present in it.
Wouldn't it be great if all your favourite addons be packed into a single installable .xpi file? Opening such a file will install all the addons present in it.
Lets see how this is done.

1. Install FEBE(Firefox Environment Backup Extension). This is an addon that will be required.
2. Go to Tools >> Quick Backup.

FEBE - Backup Firefox addons to single installable xpia.) Choose a destination directory. This can also be done from Tools >> FEBE Options >> Directory tab.
b.) Tick the Create single xpi checkbox. This opens a textbox where you enter the name for the single xpi file.
c.) Tick all the addons you need in the 'Items to backup' section.
3. Hit Backup Now button.

A new xpi file will be created in the destination directory specified by you. Use it to install all your addons in one shot.
Currently, FEBE only works with Firefox 3. FEBE can also be used to backup a lot more stuff.
Enjoy!

Watermark Video Files

After looking around for quite a while, this is the only free solution I could find to watermark some of my video files. It is MPEG Streamclip.

1. Open video file in MPEG Streamclip.
2. Go to Files >> Export to Avi..[You can export to any format that is provided]

3. A new window pops up. Click Adjustments at the lower-right of the box.

4. Enter some text in the watermark textbox. Click Ok and hit 'Make avi' button.

The converted video clip will contain the watermark you typed.
There may be better ways or tools out there that I don't know about. If you do, feel free to drop in a comment.

[Download MPEG Streamclip]

Rip Audio from Video files

Play videos from Rar file without extracting
Record streaming online flash videos
Take screenshots from video clips

Remove Firefox Auto-Suggest Entries

Firefox saves stuff that you type in its address bar or web forms. So if you enter some wrong data (eg. your username in a login form), that is saved. That data appears in a small drop down the next time you enter your login.
Here's a way to remove those unwanted entries.

1. The list appears as you type something.
2. Select a word by pointing you mouse cursor to one item in the list.
3. Hit Shift + Delete from your keyboard.

That's all! You can remove entries from the address bar, web forms and the search box on the top-right of the screen.
